People who can help

You don’t have to plan and prepare on you own.

Your NDIS Provider, family and friends, or local community organisations may be able to help you.

It’s about working with people you trust.

Some examples of community organisations that may be able to help are:

  • Local Council
  • Disability Advocacy groups
  • Local Multicultural Centres
  • Local Neighbourhood Centres

What to do if things go wrong

Sometimes your NDIS Provider may not do things you expect them to do – or the things they are supposed to do.

It is always a good idea to talk to your provider if you are not happy with the support you are receiving around emergency and disaster management. You can ask a family member, friend, or advocate to help you with this.

If you are not satisfied with the response you receive from your NDIS Provider, contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to talk to someone about what is going on.

Find information about how to do that on the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission website.
